What does "attention to" mean on an order forum?

I'm try to order some computer parts from Compaq and they have like:

First Name:
Last Name:
Attention to:
Address:
City:
blah, blah, blah.

Little help for this idiot?

if it's being sent to a big company you send it to a person in that company:

"FAO (for attention of) John Smith
The Name Company
Address"

so that the company knows how to redirect the package internally, i think

Yep, basically just signifies who exactly the package is for, or what department. Like, if you were sending the package in for an RMA, usually it would be Attention: RMA Department though, they usually specify if thats what they want first.

I don't know what the 'to' is doing on there.

Usually its just Attention: <name>
