So far the only thing ive seen from the videos is the buggy.
please post if youve seen or heard of other vehicals we will be able to drive in single player or mp.

id consider the crane to be a button as you probally only go up to a lever and press "E".

The only thin I diden't like while driving, was that you can't see Gordon's arms,

Basic FPS driving school teaches you no hands steering :upstare:

Seriously though: In Stalker you can see the characters hands when driving. Wonder if you can see the rest of you body... Shouldn't that start being the norm soon??

I wish gordon was like MR.47, when you play in FPS, you can see his body and his arms.

The whole hands on the wheel thing is unimportant, heck maybe Gordon thinks he cool and holds on to the bottom of the wheel where you don't see it :p

When you drive, If I recall write, it's like In Battle Field series, you can look around, not sure though.

ya you can look around but what annoys me is there is no cross hair to aim the turrets.

I watched the coast Bink before posting, you can only see about 3/4ths of the wheel in it. And yeah you can look around just not sure about looking down

What is that thing in the HL2_2004 trailer bink, is that the airboat or something else?

I made a thread awhile back, which dealt with an interview with Doug about Half-Life 2. Anyway he said something about a drivable "jeep" in the game.

I thought that this was a completely new vehicle, but then it was revealed that it was just another name for the buggy.

I read in a PCPP magazine ages ago (i think it was an interview with Gabe)
and he said

"at Valve we are playing around with idea to make the Strider ridable"

doesnt sound definite and i dunno if that would be considered a spoiler but i covered it anyway

The only confirmed vehicles so far are the crane (which I suppose you can class as a vehicle), airboat and buggy.

Hopefully there'll be a few more, it'd be fun to drive that combine APC.

I remember hearing a while back that it has a tunnel boring machine that you can drive, dont know if this true or not though, anyone else hear of this or is it just my imagination.

that's "vehicles"

In the GCF's there a files referring to the following vehicles
Jetski, V8 and APC. The jetski sounds like a driveable sort of vehicle, i have no idea what the V8 is and the APC we've seen in various binks. IT might be drivable.
Crane which we know about and the airboat.

the preload files would have files for every vehicle in the entire game whether it was driveable or not though wouldnt it?

You sure that was PCPP? PCGamer misinterpreted an eMail about that sort of thing that was posted on here ages ago... the email said that
VALVe had been using a re-jigged ridable Strider for fun and to test the vehicle systems, not that it'd be in HL2.

hmmm mightve been, PCPP is my fave but i generally buy 2-3 diff mags a month for something to read......
but yeh what you say is prob more along the lines of what i read

No, I mean, PCGamer reported that the Strider was drivable, but it was traced back to a misinterpretation of an eMail here.
