..of the very slow teleport that happened in HL2 where Alyx and Gordon were missing for a week??

Did Valve just let it die?? or is time travel possible in the HL universe?? Was it brought up in dialogue or hidden hints anywhere after that?

It allowed for the storyline to develop without you sitting through it. Time travel might be possible, and technology to allow it might be what is being stored on the Borealis.

It's not time travel, they were just in suspended animation for a week.

Which is a primitive form of time travel.

How else were Valve going to realistically damage City 17. If you was not away for a week to city would not be as badly damaged, and would be the same. The Combine teleporter is new and a copy of human teleportation, perhaps they did something wrong missed something or haven't configured it properly, causing you to get stuck for a while. Plus it's Gordon, how can a teleporter work properly with him inside of it.

I remember Izzy making a big deal out of it as he always does cuz he's a huge nerd and talking about researching further into it in the future.

Penguin, touche :)

This is half life, almost everything doesn't work with Gordon inside it.

Includin gthe part in the original Half Life 2 in which your being lowered down in your car via-crane. At that point in the game the first thing i thought was 'She's just going to drop me because the crane thing breaks or something isn't she?' and i was really dissapointed when it really happened.

I just want to see like one room in Episode 3 where the player is forced to go through a whole bunch of extremely hazardous and most likely ready to kill you objects, machines, ect, and actually have nothing break or fail, but i suppose this would be a huge turn from everything that Gordon touches breaking, except for the Gravity Gun which Eli was apparently smart enough to coat in an 'Anti-GordonBreaking Cream'

i really thought you were going to say something else in that spoiler!!! :naughty:

yus. qft

Eli should've put some of that stuff on him. Oh well too late. ;)

Time travel is possible in the half life universe because Gman is gordon freeman in the future.

every1 who says that G-man is Gordan from the future overlooks the fact that wouldn't that cause a paradox and cause the universe to collapse or something?

If your traveling in the speed of light for one year, people who are not traveling with you would age 5 years.

So 30 seconds in light speed could probably work in some way to equal a week or something.

I find it funny how we teleported loads in HL and yet you only do it twice in HL2 and both times cock up.

I assume it's to do with the Resonance Cascade having finished. No doubt we'll be randomly teleported due to Portal Storms or something during Episode Three.
