Where did it go? (SPOILERS I guess)

I just finished the game a few hours ago, and then I started wondering. Why did they remove things?

The Hydra wasn't there

The XM-29 SABR OICW rifle wasn't either

In fact, I thought there were way to few guns in the game.

And then there's some aliens, which I thought would be in the game but weren't.

I can't think of any more things right now, but am I the only one feeling this way? The game was pretty short too, imo. But it was still GREAT. I especially loved Ravenholm.

well actually the icthyosaur was in it, if only for about 0.2 seconds

but yeh, im sure someone said quite recently that the bullsquid was back. and we already knew about the hydra not being in it any more.

it just wasnt needed i guess, quite alot of stuff gets cut/added to a game throughout its development. i think someone said it'll probably be back for hl3.

I just figured it would be in the game, since it was in all the E3 videos.
