Which Britsh TV network do you prefer?

There are more than these two, but these are the two biggies that have been constantly fighting it out amongst themselves for the longest - People also prefer one of these over the other, regardless of the other channels / networks out there.

BBC by far. Haven't watched anything on ITV apart from the odd film for years now. BBC have atleast 5 really good shows a year. This year, Life On Mars, Doctor Who, Planet Earth, Torchwood and hmm... you get the idea.

Overall, I prefer Channel 4.

ITV has given us Pop Idol, the X Factor, Im A Celebrity: Get Me Out of Here, Celebrity Love Island, etc etc (see what im getting at here?)

BBC has given us people like David Attenborough, not to mention generally higher quality programmes (Spooks, Doctor Who, Panorama etc) and probably the best TV news in the world. No adverts either.

Channel 4. It has a lot of the decent comedy shows like The Friday Night Project etc.

BBC has too many lame things that are safe for the Queen to watch, and ITV's ratings have been falling for a while. I also hate Doctor Who and Robin Hood. They're so cheap and nasty that it's sometimes embarrassing. Not to mention we're paying for it.

BBC2 is also pretty useless. From 1:30-4:00pm it's LIVE BOWLS! Sweet!

But it also has Robin hood, which isn't very good, and Doctor Who, which is just shit.

If i had to choose between the two of them, then ITV simply because its more entertaining to watch. The only good thing about BBC is match of the day and no adverts, but most of the programmes on it are crap.

If i'm watching normal TV, then i'd watch channel 4, it has Hollyoak's, Simpsons and funny stuff later at night, also it has better film's on than channel 1, 2, 3 or 5, although again, the adverts suck. Sky > normal TV 24/7 tbfh

Indeed, and they both went after two series. I think that it's probably a Sky policy to let a show gain a fanbase and then gain exclusivity after the second series, in the hope of getting more Sky subscribers. Or else boost DVD sales and torrent downloads.

Not a fan of Sky at all... ITV aren't so great either, though they're hardly big nasty corporate players. They're just a poor network with poor shows. The BBC are a little unadventurous, but they don't really disappoint. CH4 put out some great comedy, which inevitably gets nabbed by the BBC once its on the downhill slope.

I didn't include C5 / C4 / Sky etc because these are newer channels and most people already have a verdict on whether they prefer ITVs programs or the BBCs programs regardless of wether they like these other channels.

Really weird irritating people prefer ITV over the BBC. I think it's some sort of degenerate subspecies. Most normal people prefer the BBC.

Including the other channels, i'd have to say the BBC remains on top, with c4 close behind (unique documentaries and funny shows), with sky and discovery in 3rd and 4th. ITV is somewhere near the bottom of the list - to be honest I can't stand to watch a second of it. Get it off the air.

ITV sounds like Channel 7... so even though I've never seen/heard of it, it loses my vote instantly.

5 was so much better when it gave you the softcore option. CSI's good though (or it is until you watch 3 whole series over a couple of weeks and get bored)
