How many of you guys played the first SIN?
please post your thoughts and opinions about the game

Great game, I first played it before I got into Half-Life. At the time, the interactivity of it was incredible. When you shot things, they broke apart or exploded! Also, there were these cool computer terminals with DOS-like interfaces and a lot of easter eggs. It was a bit buggy though. (Huge 18MB patch took 3 hours to download back when I had 56k)

haha........yeah. I thought it was crazy where you had to figure out
the combination to the vault.
I thought once you found it out you would progress to the next level
but you actaully had to put it in!!!....loved every bit of the game. But the end got kinda wierd

Yes, but only the demo-version. I can't really remember much about it so I can't comment on the gameplay. I remember though seeing this intro of a bird flying between buildings, just to explode into a cloud of blood by a sniper. Heh, pretty cool.

You lack "demo only" as an option. The demo was quite good and had mp-capabilities, but my gaming budget was tight back then, and as we all know there was HL.

.bog.

No, I didn't. But I look forward to it becoming available on Steam.

Played it and still have it on disc. One of the few games I've been convinced to buy from the performance of the demo and not on magazine previews or reviews.

ive played it a few times but lost the cd anywhere in 2001 -_-
both SP and MP were great fun back then ... hopefully sinep will bring this feeling back on the screens.

Heh, I never really liked it, but my dad played it. It was pretty cool I guess. And halflifeguy, werent you the one that made the HL2 map thing for Sven Coop?

I tried Sin before Half-life. I thought it was a great game, both in terms of single player and multiplayer. The single player had a B-movie storyline, but the interactivity and levels were excellent (for 1998 that is). The multiplayer part featured great maps such as one very similar to de_rats of Counter-strike (this was before CS) and another one where people spawned on the walls and surfaces going up and down stairs shooting people walking on the wall and ceiling.
When the game was first released, it was quite buggy. As in showstopping bugs. The first patch fixed them, and the other patches enhanced the multiplayer experiance.
I really hope Ritual releases the first Sin game as a bonus with Emergence.
