I was thinking about a feature that would make the forum browsing a lot easier. Its a "Who quoted me?". Basically, its a page where you can see all the threads where you have been quoted in. If you click it, it takes you to that thead and to the post that quoted you.

Much easier to get around answering all the threads you're in now when the forum is growing.

Sounds useful. Maybe instead a pm/email could be sent out containing a link to the thread you were quoted in.

zomg Majestic is back! :D

That would be a useful feature. 'course, I wouldn't think anything like that will ever happen, cuz nobody really does anything to this site any mores. :(

Sounds useful. Like every other feature were waiting on getting :)

I've been watching the site from the safety of Hetairia :borg:.

I bet there is someone around this community with some PHP knowledge who can do it (and all the other features i guess).

That would be awesome, I always forget the topics I've posted in.

Munro wouldn't let them.

Unless they, you know.... :o

it would certainly require custom coding, as far as i know, the quote button simply copies the text and author into the text area, it does not store where the quote came from by default...

Sounds like e-penis increaser and nothing more

In other words, useless

awesome feature idea, i'm behind it 100%

/me whispers soft words to his e-penis

Exactly, I'm not sure it's possible.

it WOULD require custom coding but that's just a little you have to add to the quote button's code

Sounds like it would work in a similar fashion to "Show unread posts"... I don't think it would stress the DB any more than the regular search options already do, and it would be a useful feature.

Its very hard to find someone who's trying to ask you a question or something via quoting you unless you stumble back upon it again. Sometimes I just do a search for my username, to see if people are asking me things, but other than that, there's little outside PM's and luck.

As soon as it happens I will post fake quotes in a non spammy manner to throw people off.

Why add it to the quote button's code? Just have the search feature find all rows with a post content column containing:
Code:
[quote="$username"]

I remember a long time ago in vbulletin when you could search and it would search quotes, so searching your name would produce quoted text from you.

I actually stole this idea from another forum. The forum got over 80333 members and is very busy, so it's great to have this feature. It's possible to do, but how... I don't know.

Grab a warning system while you're at it :P

for about 2 minutes, then you will get bored and do something else. :imu:

Perhaps ;)

Zero Tolerance seems to have pretty much ironed out the majority of the bugs with that system by version 1.3

:)

Stop hinting at getting the warning system back; I'll be banned within a week. :(

ummm I'd have to have several dozen pages ..maybe my own section

"Stern's great collection of Quotes from people who've quoted him, usually out of context"

or

"**** you Stern and other niceties"

I'd pay to see that :O

It seems nice, just don't make sure there aren't any server exploshens by it D:

I don't quite see the point of this feature - but never mind me, I'm stupid!

I don't, either, and I'm not even stupid. ;) Just random effort that could really be directed to more worthy endeavours.

I'm sure I saw this available for download somewhere I'll have to have another look. What forum did you see this on?

I think majestic would post the link, but hes worried about getting 'done' for advertising, so i'll let him know its ok to do so :)
