It really annoys me that I spawn with the welcome to the server message and that gives someone a few seconds to kill me. Personally I think I should spawn AFTER I press ok to the message.

Next; you should be invincible for abnout 2 seconds when you spawn, Im fed up of spawning with a barrel being thrown in my face.

Last; If I go on a server with my model choice as a combine and it balances me to resistance then my model choice is changed forever - which is annoying.

I agree with you dude 100%. It is really annoying about the server message. I usually lag for a bit when I join and can't click ok for a few seconds.

yea this bugs me
would be nice if it would remember which models I'd like to be for each team, and which model I'd like to be in non-team dm
just a little thing though

Jimmy - yes, that'd be good.

Maverick - you can press enter, rather than having to click, saves time. But I agree, you shouldn't spawn until after it has been acknowledged.

azz0r - 2 seconds is a bit long, you could easily kill someone in that time frame without them having a chance to fight back (seriously, with the GG) which is a bit unfair. 1 second I think is more reasonable, that isn't really enough time for you to properly get your wits about and kill someone, whereas someone else could have easily killed you within that time frame.

Or possibly have the game show you for 2 seconds where you are about to spawn (with like a timer at the bottom saying "spawning in 2 seconds" that counts down) before actually spawning you there, so you can quickly see which enemies are in the vacinity and which objects you might be able to use for the GG or where you could hide etc. This is probably the best idea.

Good idea! :)

Solution to the model choice thing: make config.cfg read-only. It won't be changed :)

I'd say the op4 system of 'protection' works best, you have a couple of seconds where you are 'protected' but while this is happening, you can't attack or pick up weapons, just run. But you are invulenerable. It works well imo

Never played op4. Doesn't sound that great to me, you could run over right next to a weapon/powerup, and it'd effectively be like you just spawned on top of it (although the enemy is also aware of this).

Yeah, but as soon as your seconds of invulnerability wears off, you can pick it up :P
