Why I don't think April is the release date.

I have read just about every topic about the supposed release date of April and have come to the conclusion that not one person has considered the most obvious joke here.......April Fools Day.


My guess is that the hacker made away with someone's TEMP folder at Valve and the only reason Gabe is delaying it is to fix any issues with Steam dozey: don't get me started lol) and making any changes that cheaters would take advantage of and let it go thru the grapevine that April would be release date and spring it on us in time for Christmas. Just a thought.

I edited this post and had taken out a whole paragraph about me having had access to the beta and why I think the haxor/conspirator had gotten hold of an outdated version of HL2. I posted thsi thread without reading the sticky at top of forum about discussing playing the beta or thereabouts. Thats me, never RTFM lol:dork:

Well I think the forum rules specifically say no 7 inch penis's in your sig. But other then that you're good.

On an unrelated note, don't all disk drives spin at 7200 RPM? I busted open an old 200MHz system i bought 8 (ish) years ago, and looked the the hard drive and it proudly displayed that it was 7200 RPM, so why do new boxes of HD's proclaim 7200 RPM like it's something big?

Well, there are 5400 rpms which are fairly standard on store bought systems. Then there are 10000rpms which are mainly SCSI and the new SATA.

You are talking about defying the principles in which April Fools Day was founded on. If they were to do so the world would fall into complete chaos.

Buckaroo Banzai u have the beta but u still failed to see in the top corner where it says 21 days until 31 september release date. Also it was not someones temp files the hacker went around and collected files. Unless u are saying that he only hacked 1 computer and managed to get maps from 12 different designers because they all use the same computer? I find that very hard to believe. Also I really don't care about the reliase date of the game. I just want the sdk.

I believe the April release date beause of the "21 days until 30 september" in the beta...sorry, but your just wishing.

Well see I believe it would be more of a April 2004 release than anything, I am reallying hoping, they should have to barely add any new content to it by then, only changes in the code. Which from the time they have now, should be able to complete, since they probably know the damages from the "alpha" or "beta" or whatever you call it.
