Will it stop at 3 by valve

Episode 3 should end it. I liked the different POV of the Gearbox expantions -- they seem slightly unpopular here, what's the deal?

Valve has already mentioned in interviews, that the 3 episodes, are Half-Life 3.
That doesn't mean there won't be a "Half-Life 3". Just meant that the content after HL2 wasn't going to be a full game titled "Half-Life 3" but was put into episodes instead of a full game. Later on they could always have different content to use titled "Half-Life 3" sometime after the HL2 episodes. That's if they decide episodes are not the end-all-be-all for them and want to try another full game.

No idea. I liek them just fine. Always nice to see different parts of Black Mesa.

I like different POV's, too, and I don't think the expansions themselves are unpopular. I enjoyed them, just certain elements sucked balls. Race-X and craptastic weapons being Opposing Force's.

Weapons for the sake of weapons, if you ask me. Teleport thing made no sense; squid thing was dumb; 'shove your hand up the barnacle's ass or just firing a variation pistol. I dunno, I just wasn't keen.

Eh I liked the MG well enough. The pistol was pretty neat too, IMO -- .44 for the win!

Well I hope it doesn't end. But it seems wierd saying "HL3", gotton so used to HL2 and the characters, it would be a big change.

And the fact that Shephard's different perspective isn't used at all. For almost all intents and purposes you're in the same boat as Gordon but with better armed allies.

Yeah, true. It would have been cool if it had you killing scientists and stuff at some point.

I hope Ep3 isn't the "climactic finale"

I still think Half-Life has a little bit more story in it., maybe another full release like Half-Life was to Half-Life 2.

After ep3, valve willturn to a completely new ip while at the same time maintain the source engine for the new ip. After 1 or 2 new ips, they will return to do hl3 with a newly designed/improved engine which will surprise everyone.

I dounbt if they go into another story arc, it wont be done as full game. The episodes have been pretty successful as far as I can see, so they will most likely produce it in say 3-4 episodes or so.

Don't you mean "like Half-Life 2 was to Half-Life"

I like the Episodic idea and I think its a brilliant idea on Valve's part. That being said, I want a monolythic release; it's about time we have one. I just want to be literally blown away, just like I was with Half-Life 2.

I got alittle confused, my mistake.

EDIT:

After Gordon Freeman's story is told, I also want to learn more about the 7 hours war and I would like it if Valve made a game on it.

I get the feeling that they "do not speak of it" when it comes to the 7 hour war.

Nvm that, probably for the sake of making my sentence more fancy, idk. D:

I know that it will be half a decade or so if we were to get a monolythic release, and I am willing to be patient for it. :D

Ep1 was epic on many levels, don't use the "omg short no new weaponz" bullshit.

I'd rather short releases...I'm not patient and much prefer content in a steady stream.

New weapons would be LESS cool IMO. We're around City 17, we've seen the Combine enough and stuff, so that's pretty much it for weapons. Only thing I'd like to see them add is a few homemade weapons the resistance has been using far from City 17.

Dude, do you know what your saying? Yes, Ep1 was a good game. But I felt like I was playing Anticitizen One (Even though it is my favorite chapter, irony yes.), Follow Freeman, and the Citadel Chapters from HL2 all over again. I want new surroundings, and that's why I am looking forward to Ep2.

I understand what you mean, but in the final story arc, I think Half-life deserves a monlythic release to honor this awesome franchise; don't you?

Ep1 opened the way to everything. Forests, nests, silos, artic bases and the Borealis. Your other post sounded like both lost coast and ep1 completely dissapointed you.

(LC wasn't a large release but still, it's the best map valve created for source.)
