if i buy Half Life 2 - i get all the original convertions to source for free with it?
mayb if ill buy the collectors edition?

and another thing - will CS2 be the oficiall multiplayer for HL2? coz i heard something about this. and if not - will it come free with HL2 (at leats CS...)?

10x for ur attention!

We don't know definate answers to any of those questions, sorry.

I hope i've just not heard a piece of info though!

Apparently Gabe has said that they'll be sold seperately. Which is fine by me cos I understand just how much work will be going in to updating a existing game on to a better/more detailed engine.

Perhaps the Collectors edition will include Hl1 source as well?

When did he say that? (Not that i don't believe you, i'm just interested)

And what to do with my original HL1?
A free update like the HD Pack from Blue Shift would be cool.

NOT ANOTHER WILL THIS BE MULTIPLAYER THREAD.......AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!

They'll all be sold seperatly , and no 1 knows jack about MP

Put it in the cubboard...its a 5-6 year old game now. You can't honestly expect them to give away a major engine update just because you own the oldest ofs versions?

*Looking for that Gabe remark now* Might have been Lombardi actually...
EDIT: Yeah it was

http://pc.gamespy.com/pc/half-life-2/515917p1.html?fromint=1

Valve's Doug Lombardi elaborated on that process, mentioning that the original Half-Life had been ported to the new engine as part of its testing. As a result, a new version of the 1998 game, running in the Source engine, will be released around the same time as Half-Life 2.

When asked if this new version of Half-Life could be distributed via a free download or as part of an expanded Half-Life 2 "collector's edition," Lombardi suggested that either (or both) could be possible. A special collector's edition was already expected for Half-Life 2, and Lombardi confirmed that one is in the works, but was unable to offer any concrete details on the exact contents.

Ok, didn't think we knew for sure. Cheers.

It still isn't CS2, it's CS: Source.

Well I'm betting there isn't going to be a CS2...

And whats wrong with CS:Source? It looks fantastic from what we've seen of aztec and the physics. I can't see CS2 giving any better than what CSS can offer.

If they make a CS2 you know it'll smell of CZ. Single player missions galore...

Since nobody knows, I'm gonna send an email to Valve asking wether the HL-1 mod ports will come free with HL-2 normal or special edition. I read somewhere that the ports would sell at a budget price, but still, I'll ask this to Valve...

I think the re-made HL, CS & TFC will come in the SE

I was under the impression these would all be avalible at budget prices through Steam only.

They will probably be cheaper via steam, the retail versions will probably be available to cover the non broadband market/boxed set completists.
