Win XP64 - Problems runnnig any Steam game

This is wierd. I've downloaded the latest
driver for my video card: nVIDIA FX 4000.
And I can run CounterStrike: Source.

But I don't see the meny, and in the game
I don't see the crosshair, hp, the ammo count
or the stats, just the game itself.

Can anyone help me out?

Check for that in the game options and your graphic options also.That happened to me once when I put everything on worst graphic quality in my computer options and game options.Maybe you also can't see the crosshair,hp,the ammo count
and stats because you didn't configure it well in game options for that.Check for it again and put everything that on ON.
TAB is for stats.

Well, the thing is. I launch the game, and I see the CounterStrike:Source loading image, but when the meny comes my screen goes black. I can move my cursor around and hear the clicks when passes over the various options, but it's a bit hard to navigate when I have no visual...

So that makes in kinda hard to to enter the game options.

Any other suggestions?

I run x64, but I don't have problems like that. You sure you have the 64-bit drivers? Check over the nvidia site again.

If you have a CD of your windows,try to install graphic card driver from it then.

Got the latest driver all right... Even tried a beta driver from another site, but it didn't do much good.

I just don't get it; if it's not a driver issue, what could it be?
