Glados's chamber makes me think of the Wizard of Oz.

You have your enormous central figure, the bit off to the side where the real wizard would have hidden. . .

Maybe a vague comparison, gives me the idea that glados could be a real person with a synthesiser.

I kinda thought about Anthology of Interest or how it was called in Futurama where Leela gets knocked on her head by the what-if-machine and she kinda had this oz trip and Zoidberg needed courage, so the mighty professor replied "Who needs courage... (pulls out gun)... when you have a GUN?!"

Also, I disagree. Portal is nothing like Oz.
