apart from the fact he apparently doesn't know about backups/redownloading with Steam, he has pretty much got a point. what you get in the CE is ridiculous for the price, and i'm not even comparing it to steam gold..

I also dislike the hybrid book they give you.
I mean, if you buy the collectors then your the type that is going to buy the Raising the Bar (As I did). Possbily even buying the stragety guide (to read after you have finished the game on hard of course!).

He does make a strong point about Valve delaying the game alot but this time i do believe them or i think if they delayed it again there will be a lawsuit the people vs valve because you have too think of all the money that was made when people bought it from steam i got the bronze package which was 50 bucks if the game did get delayed i would start a lawsuit my self for false advertisement so that customer has every rite too bitch every customer does

Honestly i think silver package is the all around best purchase option for the game. This guy was just crying about it because he didn't research enough about it first before his tantrum. No you don't have a physical copy and yes it is crap that the $90 version comes with less than the gold version. I honestly think this is VIGs fault (if they were the ones responsible for the contents of collectors) and that is a pretty lousy deal for $90! That's why valve has been nice enough to have their own "gold" edition and you get a lot more stuff for a lot less... but your right, their total assholes for offering you more for less. **** valve psh.

And they even added a nice backup option even though its not hard to copy the .gcfs to a dvd or use winrar and partition them across multiple cds.........

Vivendi's CE just doesn't live to other CE packages (e.g. World of Warcraft).

The two bonuses are the T-shirt and the sampler book. The T-shirt will probably be as boring as the hat. (Come on, don't just put the HL2 logo there. Put a crowbar at front and have "Got crowbar?" stitched on the back or something.) How about a Gordon pewter figure?

I do agree that the retail CE are crap though.

Gold edition is freaking awesome. You get like insane value regardless of where you're from, atleast according to fedex which says the rate for a 4lbs package in a 20lbs crate with international priority is ~160$
