People have said in the past that one of the reasons that the G-man can't be Gordon is that the G-man can talk while Gordon can't.

However...

The original theory says that the G-man is Gordon from a future where technology has advanced significantly enough to allow time travel. It stands to reason that they will also be able to teach a mute to speak.

Also, the G-man speaks as if "unused to human speech".

A clue?

They could probably fix his eyes, too, making glasses redundant, and eye surgery might have changed the eyes from green to blue.

What do you think?

Here a situation:

You're Valve. You've made a trilogy of a very popular game based on Aliens conquering the Earth where resistance is found. Now you finish it up by explaining at the ultimate sequence that the G-Man is actually Gordon from the future, but bearing multiple surgeries to allow him to speak and change form...

I think they could find better than this.

It's not only the appearance that clearly states that they're not the same person (G-Man has thinner lips, darker (or should I say more foggy-like?) eyes and their hair color differ), but the fact that Gordon doesn't talk not because he's a mute (and - OMG! - gains the ability to speak int he future in technological means!), but for the purpose of immersion of the player. If Valve went for that (it's quite hard to control the story without cutscenes and if the controlled character doesn't speak), I seriously doubt they would ruin their own work by making G-Man Gordon from the future.

I don't understand. Do you people really find that kind of twist in the storyline interesting? If so, go watch some Star Wars or more of those "I am your father" pop-corn movies.

Use the search button noob.
Try and think of something original next time instead of working up my famously short temper

Wow.

As soon as you people get shut down by reason, you try to bring back your argument with some self formulated bullshit.

Kinda like the catholics.

I think he did.

Still, the biggest evidence against the theory - that Marc Laidlaw is a far better writer than that - holds true.

Should'nt you have been in school at ten to ten in the morning? :|

Gordon can talk you fool. Do you think he used elaborate hand jestures on all the bloody scientists in BM?

Besides, riomhaire already proved that G-man is really Mossman from the future.

Close this thread please. Actually, can one of the MODS put on a sticky that says something like "G-Man - Gordon theories = Ban"?

I fully endorse this product/event.

The HL story is much cleverer (it's an adjecvtive damn you, even if it DOES look like it's made up) than that. It'd be a hideous ending, but it won't be because that is simply not the case. Very little of these repetitive theories make any sense whatsoever. Hnnnngh. Gordon is not the G-Man.

voteclose?
