hey, what is the fastest everyone here has beaten the half life series? (HL,Blueshift,OpFor).

Heres mine (all times on difficult mode)
Half life- 5 hours 32mins.
BlueShift- 3hours.
OpFor- 3hours 52 mins.

I do plan on taking HL2 REAL slow, because i want to enjoy it as much as possible! Then maybe I will go for a record time.. :)

I only beat HL. I didn't keep track of how long I played it.

i hope half life 2 plays with my emotions like i think it will...the scenery looks so pretty!!!!!....i cant wait to play it!

HL1: two weeks!

w00t!

Do I get a cookie?

Half-life --> almost 10 hours on hard...
I'm not very good though

TWO weekS? how many hours per day did u play it??
Maybe 2-3,. maybe more, maybe skipping some days. Dying a lot. Taking my time. Enjoying every minute.

thats cool, the first time i played it was soo friggen hard.. so i just played tfc..then a few years later, i learned about the game, and sat down to beat it....

Ha! all i know is that i beat it, and i was sad when it finally ended.
btw, does anyone know how long hl2 is suppose to be? I heard it was around 14 hours.

Reviews say that it's around 20 hours.

Half-life- 4 Years and somthing (ahoy)
Half-life PS2 Ver. 39+ hours

Hopefully HL2 isn't 14 hours, but more around 20, as others say. It's just about how long Doom3 was - I beat it in 20 hours the first time playing through. Would be a nice length for HL2.

I really hope it doesn't FEEL as long as doom 3.... that was so boring... you couldn't play it for more than an hour or two at a time before you got extrememly bored..

That depends on everyone personally. I played through Doom3 while having some of the most fun time ever with games, and after a week, played through for the second time.

wow 45mins...wtf....thats crazy.......time for me to try.
Yeah it's pretty crazy but he doesn't just stay on the maps so to speak. Lot's of exploits for instance.

Half Life took me over 3 months, but I wasn't wasn't playing it the whole time...my total time is probably 30+...maybe less...
I beat Opposing Forces in less then 24 hours total
and Blue Shift I beat really fast less then 5 hours total...

so he cheated???

Took me about a week, Half-Life.

Best moment was, Apart from everything, I would have to say when I first ran into the army. Oh and when I killed that giant spider thing (forgot its name) That was prolly the hardest thing in the whole game, much harder then the final boss which isnt much of a boss.

I'm counting down the days before I can kick some combine butt!

Technically, no. He just used unprotected (read: "broken" invisible walls) to skip over major sections of the maps to shorten the time it takes to go through them--he didn't use a trainer or anything, just used glitches in the game.

I saw the 1 hour video in pcg a while back that was fricken amazing! well impressive, he dosent fire the s-m gun untill about a third of the way in

That's right. SDA do not accept speed runs that have cheats activated nor do they accept emulated runs either. For various reasons besides the illegal activity. And if the runs have something extreme in them that screwes up the timer, they get penalties added to the timer at the end. I think the Half-life runs get one penalty per save or something.
