You realise you already made this thread, right?

F.E.A.R. - the 'dockscombat' and 'factoryassasin' loops
Also, Chex Quest, all the tunes from #1, most from #2. I'm undecided about #3.

I honestly prefer Crash Man's theme.

Favorite ME song. Very appropriate, plays in C-sec, has a kind of order and structure sound while still alien.

Heroes of Might and Magic 3 has the best music

I hear this song and remember the first times I played TF2. The game was so magical. It's still fun but It'll never be the same as when it was new.

This song is absolutely perfect for the part of HL2 EP2 it's in. Adds so much to the adrenaline rush. Lackluster on it's own, though.

Morrowind. These songs have a huge nostalgia effect on me. I hear it and I am IN Morrowind. Any song from this game I can hear it and imagine someone say "speak quickly, Outlander" or imagine running through the world.

My best video game music is from the Knights of the Old Republic series, most notably the second one. Whenever I think about it, I get a rush of nostalgia. The sound of Rebuilt Jedi Enclave is absolutely beautiful.

Gunstar Heroes had such badass music, I was listening to the soundtrack yesterday.

This one gets epic as **** around 0:30

Nope.avi

IMO every Megaman music peaked at MM2. 3 had a couple classics as well but things garbaged after that.

Secret of Mana soundtrack didn't do it for me for some reason. Chrono Trigger though, has timeless music, and is one of my favorite game soundtracks:

There's plenty more awesomeness, but those are among my top picks.

My best video game music? I just finished this video with the song me and a co-producer made as a Portal 2 tribute.

KOTOR2 without its short gem? Pathetic, hl2.net. All the more effective if you know the story:

Almost anything from this game:

Best from HL2. Impossible to dispute:

Every track Nifflas has made:

Completely forgettable ost except for this loop:

Yeah, I'll agree that this isn't objectively the best version of the MI theme, but in 1990 no other machine could come close to the Paula chip's emulation of the original MT-32 version. Mostly nostalgia in this choice. (Michael Land is also a ****ing genius and worked on SC4's music as well).

Edit: More Amiga tracks I remembered:

Fun fact: DSI (Distinctive Software), a successful racing/sports company in my city, was bought out by EA in '91, and went on to become EA Canada, the largest sports game studio in the world, responsible for every bloody EA sports game every year. Yeesh.

The music from Silent Hill will get you depressed and send your mind to the darkest regions in your psyche. Beautiful and eerie at the same time.
