Your version does not match the servers

I play this game..LAN is running OK but internet find some servers..I want to connect to anyone but the game say your version does not match the servers,please restart the game.. what can i do? where i can find some patch or update? thanks a lot;(

Patches are automatically downloaded and installed through steam. Restart steam.

Right click Steam in the system tray and exit.

Wouldn't it give him that error if he had a pirated copy of the game as well? Not saying he is pirating it, just wondering what error would come up for them.

He could also have a differently named map (but still the same map) than the one the server is running and causing this message. This is a problem when i make a map and another guy thinks he's smart and wants to add to another guys map, then the map names don't match anymore.
