There was a time where we had: and up comes a video embedded into the site.

Then Munro made it so we only had to post the URL, and it would embed itself.

Now it's gone. ;(;(

Posting the URL with it automatically making it a video was LAME.

I wouldn't mind the though.

I didn't like the video embedding. I don't have a good internet connection, and anytime a page was loading with a video in it, my connection would go hay-wire, my bandwidth would be termendously consumed even if I never pressed play, and sometimes even crash my internet.

MAYHEM I tell you.

that is my opinion. I don't want embedded video.... why? just click the link if you want to see it!

Yeah, video embedding drives my CPU usage nuts.

I like the youtube tags better than the auto embedding.

But who gives a flying **** what I like. :(

I liked auto embedding :O We can return either option soon, I just disabled it because of the move to a newer vBulletin version.

Edit - I added a poll to vote on...

I'd rather have the tags so that there's a choice to embed or link. Either way, I'll still have to go to YT to watch vids.

Haha, you "no I don't want embedding" are sucking ass right now.

lol. I'm saving my vote. I'd rather no embedding at all because it ruins my entire experience, and I leave the threads that have them. However, I'll vote for the tags at the last minute if it will make the difference.

I think I can just press stop on my browser, but I don't always know when there is a video at the end of the page... and I'm wondering why the page is taking forever to load, meanwhile whatever I am downloading in the background (like a game mod or driver or software) comes to a crawl.

I've got noscript installed specifically to block videos and flash animations in webpages because it makes my browsing slow and annoying. However, that is defeated because I allow scripts for Half-life2.net forums. So the videos can't be blocked by noscript if they are embedded.

I don't know, like Mastag says, who really cares what I think? I love this section of the forum. :stare:

Pedro for Pres

Peace

All working fine now... as far as I can tell.

Tags, although I do believe the autoembedded saved us from moronic Rick Trolls.

Having it all done by the site was good. Pretty sure it works now.
