Played Zombie panic on hl1 a bit, was pretty good. I think I'll give this a try since I've been half following it. Not to mention it looks really good and polished from the media.

I think he was commenting on the vague irony in the fact that someone whose username is Zombiepanic and obviously registered only to post about the release says that it looks like it's going to be amazing.

But as someone who was playing ZM earlier today, I have love for both mods..

I'll just post the review I put on left4dead411:

Don't even try and compare this mod to L4D. I had set my name to [L4D411] hool10 and the people on the server were bashing the game. They said they lost interest in it and this is free while L4D is not. The game completely blows in every aspect. The only thing I can think of that is good is that they made custom models for stuff. Usually the survivors are mistaken for zombies themselves. When the living look the same as the undead, you got problems. Completely pissed off that I wasted 4 hours on this trash. Even then I didn't get the mod.

ZM is a strategy game with shooting parts and interesting objectives.
L4D is a cooperative shooter.
ZP is a last-man-standing infection-style game.

The fact they contain zombies is circumstantial. If ZM contained cyborgs, and ZP contained vampires, it'd still all be the same.

It's quite a good mod, for a beta release. Some model animation problems mean you don't know if someone's seen you or not, and that can lead to frustration. Other than that it's good.

ive downloaded the installer twice and installed it on my computer but i think maybe its being put in the wrong directory or something because its not in my steam games list.

anyone else have this problem??

the difference in your before and after impressions are hilarious. I haven't tried it out yet.

I'll be back in the new year to finish things off and hopefully get a release out. I'm truly burnt out by that place. Next time I do a mod, it's Garry-style zero-tolerance moderation on the forums.

Considering the bugginess of this release I'd say you probably got off lightly.
