Zombines are headless without Headcrabs?

I remembered the first time I killed a Zombine. The headcrab fell off of the head, but there is no head...
Like the headcrab chewed off the head of the Combine.

I didn't notice that, but I think it's because combines aren't supposed to have faces
or rather, we aren't supposed to see their faces.

We see their faces in the combine_stripped combine..

Heh, yeah..

I never saw a stripped combine in ep1 though.. But the files for it are in the ep1 GCF

A guess would be that it was something to do with the heavy modification of the skull for combine troops.

maybe the combine did something to the head to make it unsuitable for headcrabs, so the headcrabs had to eat through it

Add a bit of machinery and modifications here and there and you got yourself a Strogg D:, but yeah, the Zombines just completely rocked, set the feeling in some bits perfectly

I whole heartedly agree , especially when its dark and they're all coming at you near the elevator
Also, I though I saw a couple of combine_stripped hanging in kind of bunk beds somewhere, I can't remember where exactly though....

They were so completely random, some just blew themselves up or dropped the grenade and ran

And grabbing the 'nades from their hands with the grav gun is always fun.
