People said the same thing with StarCraft 2....it's working out well (even with the random shit that bnet spews....) It's there so people can't just download it and go to a LAN party and play with it. They wouldn't exclude it if they didn't know they will make money because of it.

Really, when you start getting to the large amounts of things going on, example being maxed armies fighting and what not, shit gets laggy fast. I'm not sure about your specific setup, and I wouldn't IMAGINE you'd have an issue, but have you tried just lowering to "high" and watching the replay...
