Actually now that we have a maths thread of such I think this might be a good time to bring up an interesting thought I have been having.

Those of you who know basic calculus should know that the derivative of any term k(x^n) is kn(x*[n-1]). Those of you who go further on in their studies should come across taylor expansions, a particular case being that the function f(x)=exp(x) is in effect a polynomial of infinite extent. Now what is funny about exp(x) is its derivative is itself exp(x). If it was a finite series polynomial, this could not be possible given the way we derive polynomials (as it would be an order less, i.e. n -> n-1). Thus the only way that the function can both be a polynomial and have its derivative equal to itself is if it is an infinite sum, which it is.

Just thought you would like to know, if any of you are trying to wrap your minds around the concept of infinity.
