Ok, hey all I'm having technical (maybe) issues with Half Life 2 (purchased via credit card over Steam). The same problems occured with the demo when I wasn't rich enough to get HL2. OK, on to the probs.
1) My flashlight is VERY screwed up. It only lights up MODELS like enemies or physics props, and even then REALLY badly/dimly. GEOMETRY isn't lighted up at all. Thank god the demo featured Ravenholm or I may of just quit right then and there cause I can't see anything. Any suggestions or ideas welcome.
2) Any and all TV's/Breencast's are inaudible unless I'm RIGHT next to the entity giving off the sound, so I have to listen (visually read the closed captions is more appropriate) to all the Breencast's I haven't heard before and stand on top of any viewscreens/TV's giving off sound to hear just a barely audible noise. Help here is also needed.
3) Finnally, and possibly the issue with the Flashlight, is the inability to change the Advanced Video settings like Model Detail or Shadow Detail. If I could raise shadow and or shader detail then maybe the flashlight would work. But every time I alter one of those settings then click Apply OR Confirm, the game just crashes. No questions asked. Just, FSOD, then blackout to the desktop. AAUGHHHH!! PLEASE HELP ME!
