What are your top 5 favorite new games of 2005? Mine are as follows...

1.Battlefield 2- Simply amazing. Great graphics, amazing gameplay. A must have if you dont already own.

2. Day of Defeat Source- Another amazing game. Only reason its not #1 is because regular day of defeat has been out for some time so its not really that new

3. Indigo Prophecy- really really fun game. Very good storyline, and innovative gameplay

4. F.E.A.R- Another great looking fps. Didnt get to play through it all but what I got to play it was really fun.

5. The movies- any one who played this game knows its addicting.

Hasn't this been done before, or was that an 'of all time' thing?

I havent been playing games really this year. Old ones though. for top five I would say FEAR, The Movies, Tony Hawk's American Wasteland, and Fable The Lost Chapters, cause they were the only games I got this year which were all christmas presents :D But its sad cause the last game I got before that was Half Life 2 the same day it came out, more than a year ago :(

1: F.E.A.R

2: Still Life

3: Condemned: Criminal Origins

4: Battlefield 2

5: Perfect Dark Zero

Other: Quake 4, Act of War

2005 was a bad year. To few good games. FEAR, Still Life, Condemned saved this year.

2006 on the other hand is going to be one sweet year! Check link.

1. BF2

2. BF2:SF

These are the only 2005 games that I have.

Dunno about the other 2, but my top 3:

3: F.E.A.R.

2: BF2/BF2:SF

1: RE4

1. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (PC) - yes it got boring, yes it had stupid micromanagement crap but it was still a great game.

2.Guild Wars - great rpg that worked well with groups of unknown players or guildmates with a nice learning curve.

3. FEAR - well made game from start to finish, looks pretty good but the effects make it look loads better. A bit short though

4. Darwinia - only just got it on steam but it was fun adventure/strategy game and well worth the price

5. Doom 3: ROE - good expansion pack having solid level design and a few new features. Only really got into my list because I only played 5 games that were released in 2005 in 2005 :P

1. GTA Liberty city stories

2. Dawn of war: Winter Assault

3. Resident evil 4

4. Fahrenheit

5. Republic Commando.

In no order. Yes, I am aware the latter game was somewhat average, but I really enjoyed every minute of it. It was great fun, and if anything, goes to show 2005 was a crappy year.
Timesplitters 3 can be up there as well.

I'm kind of an oldskool player so mine aren't that new.

1. Half life 2

2. Battlefield 1942

3. Counter Strike (Source)

4. Half Life 1

5. Commandos 2

1: Resi 4- the best game i've played in a long time, was getting tired of dull pc fps's so this was a breath of fresh air, fantastic combat and overall great presentation, long too, interactive cutscenes, fantastic enemies and great enemy design, excellent tense setpieces, claustrophobic combat, memorable boss fights, lotsa unlockables/extras once finished...

2: Metal Gear Solid 3
-this came out this year in europe i think so this is in my top 5, the best mgs yet probably, great gameplay, boss fights and wonderful story, the Boss is one of the best game characters ever imho, typically great mgs presentation, sound, design etc...cant wait for 4

3:erm Pro Evo 5- just the best soccer game yet, the superpatch and editing tools by juce made it so much better...

4: Battlefield 2- some of my most memorable gaming moments were with this game, mostly through playing in squads, just great fun, shame about the bugs that hampered it initially, DUDE SQUAD FTW!!!

5: F.E.A.R- best sp fps i've played since hl2/far cry/riddick etc, most visceral combat in a fps i've seen, shame about the bland level design, insane gore was a good plus too

others:
devil may cry 3-got this game this year, another great capcom game, Dante has probably the coolest moves ever, wonderful over the top cutscenes, insane gun and sword play.

silent hunter 3-dont play sims at all but loved this...

Fable: The Lost Chapters

In no particular order:

Age of Empires 3: VERY nice looking environments, same gameplay as previous games but I like it. Story is pretty decent too.

F.E.A.R: I enjoyed it...

Battlefield 2: Awesome graphics, awesome gameplay. I'm hooked on this game, none of the maps seem to get old.

Project Gotham Racing 3: Again, the graphics are amazing. The gameplays fun too, i love drifting around corners to earn my Kudos. Enjoying this one.

Quake 4: Nice graphics (in ultra quality), gameplay was ok, got a bit repetative from time to time, but it kept me interested until the end.

2005 has been pretty slow for games... lets hope 2006 is better ;)

1. Battlefield 2
2. Day of Defeat: Source
3. God of War
4. Shadow of Colusseus

Thats the only games I've enjoyed this year. Gaming has lost its appeal on me these days.

1.) God of War
2.) Resident Evil 4
3.) F.E.A.R.
4.) Gran Turismo 4
5.) Lumines

I have more games I liked this year too, but these came in on top 5.
Hard choosing between GoW and RE4. :(

god of war number 1?:O

is it that good? i've been trying to buy it but cant find it anywhere not even preowned:(

1. Battlefield 2; great gameplay, nice graphics and super squadplay
2. Silent Hunter III; great immersive sim with mods galore
3. World of Warcraft; the first mmorpg I ever played. Liked it a lot. Shame about the subscription. (it's in my 2005 list since it got released in Europe this year)
4. GTA San Andreas for PC; the formula is getting a bit old but still a very good game.
5. Guild Wars; another take on the mmorpg genre. Not as immersive as WoW but cool nevertheless.

1. Darwinia
2. Quake 4
3. X3: The Reunion

I don't have 4 and 5 cause I haven't played any other new games. In fact, I haven't even played X3 yet, but I just know I'll enjoy it :)

I've just been playing Counter-strike Source and Quake3 for the whole year.

Top 3:

1. Battlefield 2 (and Special Forces)
2. GTA: SA
3. F.E.A.R.

can't remember whcih games I played this year were from 2005; these I anjoyed and they are from 2005 :]

Games I bought in 2005:

1. Battlefield 2
2. Call of Duty 2
3. Day of Defeat: Source
4. Battlefield 2: Special Forces

Games that I think deserve to be classified as 'good':

1. Battlefield 2
2. Battlefield 2: Special Forces

I couldn't stand how linear COD 2 was and DOD:S just felt like a bad WWII mod for CS:S.

The games I bought this year and enjoyed would be:

In no particular order..

1.) Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory
2.) F.E.A.R
3.) Call of Duty 2
4.) Battlefield 2

As for the rest...

1. BF2 - of course, i love it still!
2. DoD Source and CS Source - know CS came out 2004, but only started playing it 2005
3. Doom 3
4. CoD 2 - bit too linear to be at the top
5. Quake 4 - just got it, not played it much

1) DOD:S = Even when I have BF2 and BF SF, I’ve found myself playing DOD:S more, great game the graphics are very good, and the game play is just great, the best 20$ I have ever spend, plus is getting new effects, maps and stuff every now and then!
2) BF2 and BF SF: Nice game "IF" you have the buddies to play it, Pubs are just crowded with immature kiddies, but all in all a good game
3) Shadow Of the Colossus: Can be games be cataloged as Art? This game says YES!
4) Dragon Quest VIII: For an old video gamer like me, this is a perfect RPG, very Old fashioned, loooong and difficult, plus great graphics and soundtrack just make it perfect!.
5) F.E.A.R: I really liked this game, I liked the graphics and the Game play too.

1 ) Battlefield 2
2 ) Resident Evil 4
3 ) Star Wars Battlefront 2
4 ) Psychonauts
5 ) GUN

I'll do it of games I got this year, hmkay.
1: FEAR
2: Black and White 2
3: GTA: San Andreas
4: Commandoes 2: Men of Courage
5: Quake 4

-FEAR
-Quake 4
-DoW:Winter Assault
-Doom 3:ROE
Only 2005 games I've played.
