A little off topic but...

Doom 3 has just gone gold. Will be available from 5th of August.

I know this has nothing to do with HL2 so please close if you want. Just thought that the community would like to know. I have followed development of both of these games closely and perhaps am in the minority who don't consider them to be in direct competition to each other.

Most of the FPS fans that I speak to are going to purchase both and I think that id and Valve also know this which is why it doesn't really matter when they are released. Gabe even said as much in his latest interview Although sooner is much better than later

If nothing else we will now have a kickass game to keep us going until Fall...
