AC power cable Model???

Has anyone seen a MOD that has the rope or cable entity used in a power cord kind of model... like if I wanted to plug a lamp or a machine to an AC outlet

Can you please point me out to a model or object like that... I already know how to model a rope but not a plug that can be conected to a wall
 
Pardon my language but what the **** are you talking about?
 
He's talking about an entity for a map he's probably working on and requires an entity (a world item) that looks like a power cord.
 
Oh. I wasn't thinking in terms of mapping/modding..I was thinking he wanted some kind of box IRL that would do that..

Shouldn't it be in Help or Mapping/Modding though..?

What, you want to make it like the TV in HL2? I think the plug for that was just brushwork.
 
there's a plug and socket model in HL2 - use the new search function in the model browser to find them. use move_rope for the powercable
 
To further explain. When teleported by kleiner in HL2 right in the beginning, you plug a cord in... "Your MIT degree really shows off here" or whatever he's saying.

The cord is a move_rope, as you know. The plug is a model, search for "plug" and you'll find it.

How to plug it to something? Maybe a trigger that is triggered only by the plug and then upon trigger the plug is constrained to wall or something. and then trigger whatever you want to happen.

But I am not sure. Also to further explain. The TV in HL2 (seen in c17 with breen speaking to the people.) consists of the same kind of move_rope, but the plug is indeed brushwork this time around.

I meant the little TV you seen throughtout C17 with Breen on it. The only other plug I can think of is the big one that's usually used on them Combime force sheild things.
 
Thanks for the tip UltraProAnti and Unarmed, I found the plug/socket combo in the SDK_dm_lockdown, and as you mentioned there is also one for the teleporter in the trainstation map. Its a little too big but I will figure how to resize them to be smaller or replace them with something I will try to model. Now about the triggering. Do you know how to trigger a VGUI2 with a model? or with a specific key of keyboard like TAB for the player list in Dethmatch??
