I , too, am very sick of this show and the absolutely terrible ending is responsible for that. But I do think the first 2 seasons were great, and the beginning of the 3rd.
I wouldn't call it a total waste of time, but eh... be prepared to be very disappointed in the end.

I'll agree that the ending was terrible, but I started to hate the show long before that took place. It had some great moments, don't get me wrong. Things like
were marvelous. But those of you saying that Seasons 1 and 2 were so great, remember episodes like Black Market? Final Cut? Scar? Most of Season 2 was complete rubbish.
The problem is that the show took a pretty cool (albeit not-very-original) idea, and ran with it, but they were so busy looking to see who was following them that they tripped over. Most of the ideas it brings up are never properly addressed, and the writers show very little longterm thought.

Some episodes were pretty bad and Black Market was indeed terrible, but S2 features the whole Pegasus/Resurrection Ship storyline, not to mention all of early S2 was good, and the last few episodes and the finale were also great.

Wow, I thought I'd wandered into the LOST thread by mistake.
I think that's an exaggeration. It definitely wasn't "complete rubbish". You could get away with 'mediocre', 'average', but I think 'complete rubbish' is too far. I found Season 1, 2 and 3 to be quite good, and above-and-beyond most dramas. Even Season 4 had its high points.

Not at all, I just thought it was well-done and remarkably dark.
There's a big difference between "We've given you six seasons of information, it's time to make your own judgments" and "God did it."

The seasons steadily progress downhill as the show goes on. I love season 1, and mostly season 2, but around 3 it starts getting weak and 4 is pretty shit.
That being said I still consider myself a pretty big fan of the series.

Yeah, Caprica actually got better towards the end of the last... er... I'm not sure if I should call it a season? I don't know why they do this .5 shit with their shows.

Prequels when you know everyone will end up nuked. Ahh existentialism.
I want to check it out when it's over. If there's one thing I hate it's waiting for new seasons.
