Alyx? Where'd you go? ._.

Um, Alyx just up and dissapeared on me.

I'm playing through again right from the beginning, and I'm at the part where Alyx is peeking over the cliff. Her model just poofed out of existance!

Then I crawled over and the scene continued like normal, but without Alyx's model. Her voice was still there and all, but not her model.

Whoops?

lol, i've never heard of that happing before. Try playing for as long as you can with just Alyx's ghost.

I got to the part where she's leaning on the van before it falls into the chasm. I heard her follow me, but when I got to the stalkers, the game wouldn't continue.

I went and got the rollermine, and she still wasn't there. It's like when you kill a character through cheats, the game hangs.

I noclipped through, and then the game froze on me. ._.

Maybe try verifying the game cache files and I starting a new game. That might work but I'm no expert.

this. if you don't know how, right click on the game in steam games list, click properties, local files tab, then verify integrity of game cache. if this doesnt work, back up saves and reinstall it completely.

EDIT: it may be a dodgy save file, go a couple of saves back and see if she reappears

I tried that first because it sounded easier, and it worked.

Until the part where the elevator smashes. For some reason, Alyx does what she normally does, yelling to blast stuff and telling me what to do, and when the elevator reaches the bottom, she just vanishes again.

Then, the elevator smashes, I hear her yell "Gordon!" and then I get a game-over because Alyx died. D:

So, I tried the cache one, and got nothing.

I think my game might be busted ._.

Utterly stumped by your problem, I can only point you in the direction of the official support section and post the video that everyone else my surely have been thinking of when they opened this thread.
