Anticitizen One - Help pls

I am stuck in the beginning of the map. Have met the rebells but non of them will join Freeman, and there is then no way to command them. Cant get on with the game until I get them to join...Pls help

The guys that pull down the screen? I don't know dude, sorry. They're supposed to follow you and after some quick squad practice the Combine open a gate and attack you.
