So, hl2.net, what are some awesome series that you've never watched when they were popular, but you're currently watching religiously?

For me it's the X-Files, I've currently burned through the first season in four days and I love it. The characters, stories, writing and atomsphere are awesome so far and I'm watching 2x02, The Host, right now.

One benefit to watching the series late: it's complete and you can watch entire seasons as you go. Next up: Stargate.

X-Files and Stargate... two of my favorites.

If you don't know what to expect from Stargate, it's lighthearted, cheesy, sci-fi action. It's similar to Star Trek except it takes place in the present.

Anyway, the only older TV show that I'm watching now for the first time is "Space Above and Beyond". The atmosphere is very similar to starship troopers, minus the giant bugs.

There are probably many other tv series I've never heard of, that were popular in the 90's or 80's.

Started watching Sopranos in December last year and finished the entire series in 2 weeks. Thought I'd never get into another series like that again.

Just last week I started watching Dexter and now I'm obsessed with that.

I dont know if its necessarily popular, but I've been watching the Dilbert cartoon show, and it's actually really good. I would definitely recommend it to people.

Also has one of the coolest cartoon intros I've ever seen.

Damages gotta be mine.

That's some awesome shit.

Mad Men, started two days ago... I wasn't impressed with the first episode so I never gave it a chance.

UHHH you should give this show a chance because it is ****ing excellent.

Someday I will watch The Wire, too.

twin peaks
xfiles (half way through and took a break, that was a year ago need to start it again :()

Catching up on Dexter right now. It's a pretty good show, but they got rid of one of my favorite characters

Arrested Development
Fishing With John
Mr Show

You know, I never watched a minute of this show, but decided to check it out when I saw it had like 65 pages here on these forums. It's a little funny to think the show originally must have aired before I even joined here. It seems like an eternity ago. It was on the air for 6 years, and here I am able to watch every episode, commercial free, from beginning to end.

Star Trek: Deep Space 9.
Watched it with my dad a few years ago but I couldn't really get into it and just dismissed it as shit.

But, my uncle recently bought every Star Trek series on DVD and he let me borrow DS9 since he's currently burning through TOS and then TNG.

I'm in the middle of Season 2 right now and I'm greatly enjoying it.
Fun stories and fairly likable characters.
Can't wait to see what the Dominion is, they're being treated like the Shadows from Babylon 5 so far... where you basically just hear whispers about them here and there.

Avatar: The Last Airbender animated series

While watching DBZ: Kai (on Nicktoons) I happen to stumble upon it - I've been watching it since the summer, and I've been addicted to watching the re-runs ever since. I can't wait for the new mini series, Legend of Korra (which is Fall 2011).

Pretty much every show I've seen, I've seen after its hayday. Futurama, Lost, Firefly, Odyssey 5, Fringe, Arrested Development, Terminator: TSCC, Scrubs, The Wire, Generation Kill, Rome, The World at War, and too many more to list.

Then I also didn't get into many current shows until several seasons in, like Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Mad Men, Breaking Bad, True Blood, Dexter, and probably a handful of others that are on now.

I've been watching Burn Notice a lot recently. I feel for rejecting it initially, mostly because of that ridiculous face the lead makes sometimes.

Full Metal Alchemist. Probably the best Anime I have ever seen, with a great dub and no steep learning curve.
