Nintendownage!

Not surprising that Mario is the most lucrative series. Go to www.ign.com and search "Mario" then choke at the amount of results.

Well, its no wonder they keep cashing out on Mario.

Most of those, I must admit, are obvious. I love how games from back in the day *when they were way too expensive..* are STILL on top. Wooo!

Now what's great, Starcraft and FF7 are above WoW! WOOO

Wow....sweet list.

I'd say your assessment is pretty accurate...Nintendowned.

Totally, the number of games they have shifted is staggering. Just look out how many times Pokemon features in the top 25 - 5 times! Regardless of whether you like the games or not, that's just crazy. It's also interesting to see 4 DS titles there, making it the only recent console in the list. Every single bundled game that's sold over a million is a Nintendo game except Tetris, which owes its huge number of sales to appearing on the gameboy, and they're dominating the most popular franchises by a mile. Laughing all the way to the bank.

It's nice to see Golden Eye and Half Life share the top spot for biggest selling fps. Shame that Halo 2 made it!

I'm surprised none from the Diablo series is on that list. I thought Diablo 2 expansion sold well over 10 million copies.

Best selling shitty video games for kids of all time.
Pokemon, Mario, Sims F**K YEAH!!

Because I rate many of the Mario games?

has Half Life really only gotten 8 million?

What would you suppose Valve gets annually now with steam and all?

Because I rate many of the Mario games?

I actually laughed so hard I began crying. Awesome game after awesome game. To me it's more like mediocre games after one awesome game and sort of okay games before that.

It sounds like you are both very easily amused (seriously, crying with laughter? ;)) and counting many of the Mario spin-offs that have little impact on the figures above. The Mario games mentioned in these lists are all flahship Mario titles (which make up the vast majority of total Mario games sold) and pretty much all range from very good to genre definingly awesome. Fair enough, you might not rate Super Mario World or SMB3 etc, but it's hard to argue that they weren't very good games that appealed to many people.

I am easily amused and I'm not arguing that people may find them to be good games. Just personal opinion much like how people hate Pokemon, I love Pokemon.
