Black Mesa (Source)

thats what BM:S is all about. unless valve did it on their, like, half life 4 engine. the source source source engine. BM:SSS would pwn. :P

BM:S won't put Gondon actually witnessing Eli getting his leg getting devoured by a bullsquid, trying to protect his young daughter & himself...Which the BM:S team won't put in *Sobbs & cry's in despair* D:

Because he lost his leg when he was attacked by a bullsquid while helping Dr. Isaac Kleiner climb over a wall into a Combine city. :P

There are 2 possibilities, really, and there's been nothing to confirm which is true.

EDIT: I dunno, but IMO I'd think it'll be nice if Valve bought the BM and then hired the team and then upgraded HL:S, of course giving the team credit.

IMO that'll be aweshens.

You want Valve to buy their own game from a mod team, and then give them jobs?

I mean they take all the graphical updates and stuff and toss it onto HL:S.

I completely disagree.

Dammit I hate it when you do that D:
Explain yourself when you state such firm opinions!

Emphatically seconded. Samon, what is the point unless you explain why? It comes off arrogrant. I think most regulars know your stance on BM, so if you've no actual substance to add to the conversation, why bother commenting?

Well, I wouldn't hire anyone based off a few renders and hand-picked screenshots. If BM:S is awesomely good, then I'm all for Valve picking them up. But picking them up based on a bunch of alpha or pre-alpha content isn't very smart.

There is nothing 'arrogant' about it. I disagreed with him, and didn't feel the need to explain why. I simply disagreed. That said, I don't dislike/hate Black mesa source.

Well maybe it's just me, but it does sound arrogant when it comes from you because of the weight your opinion in particular carries, if you understand what I mean.

Yes. If you really don't understand what I mean... just think about it.

I'm not really in the mood...you could just explain what you mean as it could go a number of ways.

Simply the fact that you're the Super Mod, you're a very prominent poster and your arguments tend to be comparitively well-developed, and you don't seem to ever change your mind or take on other people's viewpoints in arguments...

Samon's post count is fabricated, just to let you guys know.

I'd also like to note,

If someone disagrees with your opinion....move on...it really can end that quick. There doesn't have to be an argument.

I mean they take all the graphical updates and stuff and toss it onto HL:S.
HORRIBLE idea.
Why?
Cuz I don't own HL:S.

when is it coming out???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Aha, but Prima pulls stuff out of its ass once in a while, as seen in the Episode One Prima guide.

One mistake? Oh noes! To quote the Prima Guide credits: "and thanks to Marc Laidlaw for Character and beastiry notes along with general help on story points". Also, Valve would check it before its released wouldn't they? :)

But the Episode One guide contradicts that point. Kinda.

Yeah well maybe they didn't know where they were going then. Or maybe as someone mentioned on a different thread they went back there first and did stuff, then left to the missile silo.

No, Laidlaw is in the credits. I'm almost certain he wrote the character bio's. Infact, yes, I am.

release early release often is the mod mantra

too bad they all ignore it :(

True, but how on earth would that work in favour of a single player modification? People generally play it once and that is it, if its early and buggy and not been polished, most people won't even finish it for a first time!

Sorry we've been pretty quiet, hopefully something new soon!

the one time I disagree with early-often is in cases like BM.

I miss you too. I just wish I didn't take on so many jobs as I did when I joined BM, because I'd have had the time to do something. Still, it's all for the best, and everybody enjoys playing something if they haven't had to spend long, gruelling hours making it.

I think they should release an Uplink 2. The exact same parts of HL as Uplink 1 but just with the Source engine. I'd love to see the gargantua at the end that'd be friggin brilliant

Someone is doin a little project of doin a port of Uplink onto the Source engine.
