The m203 on a MP5 while possible is unrealistic - little things like that annoy me and ruin the immersion. I can suspend disbelief about other things happily but if it can be done right, it should be done right

Probably the MP5, I loved the feel of it in the original HL. But it depends a lot on how the weapon sounds, for me at least, so I'm not sure. The MP5 in HL sounded sweet

M4, because whatever nostalgia feeling you'd get with the MP5 is killed off by that laser sight.

M4 all the way, but I don't like the fact that BM is making the M4 chamber 9mm bullets. The M4A1 Carbine Assault rifle uses 5.56x45-mm high velocity rifle rounds. I know there's a variant of the M4 that uses 9mm rounds, but the Colt 5.56x45-mm 30 round clip really ruins it.

No mp5 because there is no ****ing way that a MP5 uses M-203 40mm Grenade launcher & how is a weapon like this standardized by US soldiers? Completley unrealistic.

Also I hate 9mm weapons, they're like pea shooters. I perfer a more accurate weapon & power, a 5.56mm can penetrate kevlar where as 9mm cannot. Well enough of the weapon lectures; Just figured I tell my 2 cents.

I would use the M4. Infact I would most probably play the mod three times and the one that I like the most I would use a second time.

Im a avid .45/7.62mm/.50 calibre supporter, infact during the second world war the .45 was largely perfered by many soldiers over a walther p38 or a luger.

I would pick a Tommy gun over a MP40 anyday, also 9mm's don't really pierce the armour of kevlar just so you know.
