Donate it to charity, you selfish sexy beast.

What is he goign to donate? He just has a higher limit to go over on :p

*EDIT* Or am I completely wrong?

tbh I have no idea, I figured he just got a 500 dollar bonus.

No, he got a 500 (POUND) extension to his credit limit so he can spend even more money he doesn't have :P

After rereading the thread, that's what I thought. Over here in the states, Overdraft is a system used at a bank. They give you $XXX amount of dollars extra, so in case you write a check, and it dips your account into the negative, the bank will pay that money still, but charge you a fee. As long as you stay within that limit, you can charge as much as you want.

It's interest free, it's basically ?500 added to my overdraft of 1500 :)

It isn't my money no, but hey :) I'm spending it!

Banks are always happy to do that. Just like they're happy to hand out loans.

All in all, you made no extra sense from your first post. Ennui had to clear it up :P

Harry, seriously, how do you intend to ever pay back that much? You're not going to fake your death, are you?

Also,

SLAAAAAG :P

I put my student loan into a capital gains venture in a shopping centre.

I brewed my own beer in the basement... :x

Whoo. I get 30 quid a week for going to school. That's how I afford to go out every Friday. It's cause I'm beautiful.

Yay!

well i make my own money.. at a job

Me too.

I enjoy it. I'd just like to be the head honcho, that's all.

With ease, 2 grand is not that much money..

I'll never ever get an interest-free loan again in my life. I intend to abuse it.

Oh dear, either you have some rich reletives, or the world may come as a nasty shock to you. I know you'll scoff at me (My sister, the student, does) but I would advise being careful

Woo! Im $65,000 in debt! WooooooHooooooo!

I can quite happily afford to pay it back when it becomes a problem.

med student?

Famous last words :p but in all seriousness, a lot of former students have advised me against the huger student loans available - for one, it's far harder to get a mortgage while still owing, interest free or not, so unless you have an above-average salary waiting for you as soon as you get out of uni...

Meh, I've no doubt you've been to your share of financial seminars/advisors etc., probably preaching to the choir

Well for me it's not really an option, I don't get money from my parents at all, and my loan covers my accomadation and a teeny bit more (?300) so I have to live on the overdraft.
I inherit at 21, and I get about 8 grand to pay off my debts (and a bit more too iirc) so, I'm ok :)

CB, you inherit at 21? What, you're gonna kill your grandma then or what?

Yay!
Hehe I get EMA too. But my teachers are nazi's so they still make me not get it even if I'm on study leave.
****ers.

I wish I could inherit. ;( Why can't my rich family members die..but no, if my parents die, I get debt. >_<

I agree whole heartedly with badger, interest free overdrafts are most definitely there to abuse, i most definitely did in my time, he would be doing himself a great dis-service not to. Go nuts !!

:D

True. You only get one life, so live it......even if it is with someone elses money!!

btw i work full time too, so the only debts i have are a mortgage, a bit on a credit card and <?1,000 left of my student loans to pay off.

Got a 500 quid overdraft, managed to stay in the black so far

But i do have a job, live at home (pay mum some rent) and have my loan in an ISA.

I intend to be debt free when i finish :D

I got my first mail about my debt this week. Already $3300 for half a year. I'm not too happy about being in debt when I get out of school.

Let's hope I get a good job!

See, personally I could never do that. I'd hate to stay living at home during uni, halls is such a massive life experience, it really is.

Actually I have a mortgage, and when I went to the mortgage advisor they asked if I had any loans, I said "I only have a student loan" and they effectively told me that it didn't count.

Obviously, you have to pay back a student loan once you're earning over a certain amount, but since the rate of interest in a bank's savings is higher than that of a student loan, so if you're not going spend a student loan, you might as well max out your student loan, and earn interest off it.

Aye but is a serious waste of money for me..we always have this lil debate on this issue eh Badge :p

I've got $8k in the bank now and another $5k in an education savings plan. If I can save up 5k working this summer I may have to work at all next year.
