I did a search but nothing came up relevant to what i shall say.

I'll post this video for quick reference. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9PM8JnVbHN4.

You can see Breen flicker two times, once at 1:34 and very faintly at 1:51. Whats interesting about them is that Breen pops up at 1:34 when Gman is talking about plucking Alyx from Black Mesa and at 1:51 when he is talking about "nay-sayers." Connection maybe?

At 1:34:

At 1:51

It is VERY faint but you can get the jist of it that they are trying to get a quick pic of Breen in there. It is not perfectly aligned but you can tell by the fragments that it is Breen.

It's already known, yeah. Not sure if there was ever a thread on it though so it's no big deal.

That is definitely Breen, but whether it's intentional I don't know. Either way I think there's more to Breen, Eli and the Gman than currently revealed; Eli said there was so much he needed to tell us, and what with finding out that Gman delivered the sample and Breen being so eager to have the test run--there's got be more going on there.

Nice to see Breen was concerned for Alyx.

Old News, this was found ages ago and there is a previous thread on this topic, died out ages ago...

I missed that.
I think he will have some sort of role to play.

He was objecting to the g-man taking Alyx for his own means. I take that as a sign of concern.

Breen doesn't seem like the overly concerned type, he probably dismissed the idea if G-Man mentioned it. The alternative to the G-Man's actions was almost certain death for Alyx, Eli was likely almost grateful of him until he learned Alyx was becoming another pawn.

I'm a bit skeptical that it is intended that Breen was the nay-sayer, as I can't see how this would have come up in idle conversation unless there has been some weird circle of friends at Black Mesa with Eli, Breen & G-Man. I would imagine a nay-sayer to be a colleague or superior (during the RC itself), though Breen may have fit that bill at the time.

That is interesting. I always thought the G-Man meant that the naysayers were saying "Why waste your time saving her?". After all Azian didn't survive.

I hope Breen makes it back sometime, even if it is a head-in-a-jar (Furturama style) Breen

I hope he will be forgotten forever and his head in jar(hl2 cremator style)will be sold as pickles

I remember I made a thread like this, just after I played Ep2 a few times and read a little bit on Dr. Breen on the regular wiki. It doesn't matter, though.

During the "naysayers" and Breen flashing, I firmly believe that Dr. Breen told the G-man that Alyx wasn't worth saving during the Resonance Cascade, being "a mere child and of no practical use to anyone." Meanwhile, G-man saw boundless potential in her. Thus, ignoring Dr. Breen and plucking Alyx from Black Mesa.

My two cents.

Then the entire story collapses because Half-Life 2 ceases to make sense.

No, he could totally have done that. Breen's proven he's an able negotiator and does all right in positions of power, when not having his organizations harassed by a crowbar-wielding physicist. Could be useful at some point, and it's probably no big effort for the G-Man to toss one more person in stasis in case he's needed.

Breen owns Gman. Gman created the mess so Breen would be el presidente

I hope Breen explode at singularity collapse
