Breen's conversation with the Combine Advisor

When you're riding the elevator in the Dark Energy level you hear Breen saying "It's me you should be considering, I can still deliver Earth but not without your help". So, I think the Combine get whift of Gordon's skills and request his services.

I think in Aftermath, Dr. Breen forcibly becomes your ally. An unexpected twist me thinks.

Don't be so sure, I think others will support my theory that he still lives. Even one email from Marc LaidLaw suggests it (if someone would help me out there) Its not for certain, but its a strong possibility. The bubble he is in only goes back downward, but isn't destroyed from what I heard.

I think the email was something like

"I'm neither confirming nor denying the continued existence of Dr. Breen, and that's deliberate".

Breen is very much alive, as you can see if you no clip. Him becoming your ally is something I thought about, because there is no way he'll get out of the city on foot.

I hope we see him again... I find him one the most interesting characters. Love that jibber jabber about evolution, posthumanism, sentient fungi, vast meteorological intelligences, worlds stretched thin across the membrane where the dimensions intersect... impossible to describe with our limited vocabulary.

Frankly since it seems very likely he is alive… I would find it pretty bizarre if he didn’t show up at some point again.

No, you didn't see what samon said? his little bubble thing just fell down the reactor shoot and then you don't see him. If you noclip down you can see him there though.

He wasn't anywhere near the explosion, actually. His bubble goes up, you destroy the portal, he falls all the way back down shouting "You need me!", and lands at the bottom whilst Alyx cheers.

Then it explodes, with Breen no where near. Alyx and Gordon are much closer.

He was able to get over to it in no time at all, and theres a ladder at the bottom too, I'd assume he'd simply make his way down.
