Upon a closer look at Breen's globe (found on his desk) i found this (see attached pic):

Europe, Asia, Africa, etc...thats all there. But...

Now, let me say geography’s never been my subject but...well....North America has been converted to what appears to be a giant tennis court.

???

wow nice find the Cobine proballly knew that George wouldnt give up so nuked yhe US away

ghm that looks interesting :upstare:
too bad the globe isn't very clear...

looks like a place for some text, a legend, etc, in a nice 'book' styled frame
not too uncommon for globes in that style
the lack of a continent, on the other hand..

Jimmyjam is right it does look like that, but the lack of the continent is easy to explain. The whole globe looks like its pretty old (or atleast a imitation of something pretty old, yeah thats probably more likely), it doesnt have America on it yet because America wasnt discovered yet.

I looked on the model and it is there
all of south america is there and more than half of north america...the west coast gets cut off by that box
I think it's just a case of not putting more time than necessary into a one time use prop

Maybe US was completely destroyed... that's why it disappeared in the map and all US citizens moved to Europe... no wonder that there are lots of americans in City 17.

America deserved to get destroyed.
No I'm just kidding I'm not a racist.

North America's there. It's pretty much just Alaska and a bit of western Canada that's cut off by the "giant tennis court", or rather, the opened book. :P

Ah-ha, that's how the Combine won the 7 Hour War! After dropping an enormous extradimensional dictionary on the US, the rest of the world surrendered out of fear that they too would be obliterated by gargantuan literature!

maybe america was ALWAYS like that?
geez you guys are so dumb

Hmm, you might be bieng sarcastic or, your rather dumb

EDIT...

I have decided your bieng sarcastic

I don’t know much about cartography, so this might be impossible… but….
Is it possible the globe is very old… an antique from before the new world was well charted? I mean lots of people keep antiques around.

becuase before people found that the world was round they though parts were giant tennis courts.

:dozey: My statement assumes that the "tennis court" is an empty spot where a manufacture's emblem once was...
