Can i not sell my copy of HL2?

Sorry if this has been posted - i tried to search but didnt find anything.

Is it true that once you have registered your copy of HL2 no one else can register and play it?!
i.e. there will be no second hand market for HL2?

You can sell it but unless the buyer wants to pay $10 extra to have the key reset you should include your old account information in the box.
