Can you preorder HL2 from valve directly?

Is there a website where you can preorder HL2 directly from Valve? I don't want to go any of these shitty retailers like EBgames or Gamestop

I'm not interested in steam though. I want a hard copy.

You can't order it from them. However you will be able to purchase it from the release date from them via Steam - www.steampowered.com
