Can you unlock more pipes on the 8 pipe x800 se?

Most likely, the ses are the REALLY bad cards with many broken pipes that they couldnt even sell as pros, so i doubt if youll even get 12 out of them. Its probably possible though, keep an eye on hardware forums because people will try.

It will largely depend on what core it uses. If it uses the R420 core, yes it maybe possible. However, the odds of it happening are going to be exceedingly rare. Most X800 SE are going to be manufactured with 8 pipes or be an 16 piper that has 8 damaged pipes. Damaged pipes can cause heat and display problems, if they even work.

If the X800 SE isn't R420 based, there is no way to unlock the pipes. Though I remember hearing the X800 SE is R420 based.
