Can't get Map Titles to show up

Ok, please help. I've had this problem for quite sometime but never gotten around to asking it until now.
When I get in a new map in the default Single Player mode of HL2, I never see the title of the new map. No "Highway 17" or anything.

Is there something missing in my config.cfg I'm overlooking?

And if this question has been asked before, and been answered, please give me the correct link to that topic. Thanks in advance.

Truth...I dunno why, but everyone seems to think it's cool to be a badass "Nobody cares go kill yourself!! LOL!O!L!OL" /me shrugs, I guess being nice means you actually have to be mature

I'm part of the HL community and one of the main contributers to the rummors and spec forum for your information.
It's just so trivial, I mean what does it matter?

Admittedly it was phrased quite bluntly but he didn't tell him tell him to go die or anything extremely offensive. Its not much of a problem, the words come up for a few seconds. If you really want them validating your files will almost certainly fix it.

To validate your Halflife 2 files, go to start ---> run

put this in

steam://validate/220

Alright, I'll try that.

Ok, um. All it did was load up Steam, it logged me on, and I got this Survey. I said No Thanks to it, and it's not doing anything else.
I don't mean it crashed or locked up. Is it supposed to be doing something? Or did it already do that validate thingy and I can go on and play HL2?

Put it into run again, it will come up in a little box in the middle with a progress bar.
