Can't shoot down gunship, possible bug.

I've beaten HL2 at least 4 times, but I'm playing it through again and I get to the area where you fight the first Combine Gunship and my rocket launcher is in the "I'm aiming at a person" position. Basically my rocket launcher is aimed downward so I can't shoot it down. I have a legal version of HL2, I bought it through Steam so I don't know why I can't aim. Even when I shoot the rocket it lets me aim for like...2 seconds but goes back down...WTF GORDON! Gunship is enemy, not ally!

haven't tried that yet, but ive tried switching guns and other stuff. ill check that now.

if ur using the sv_cheats 1, and impulse 101, sometimes the gun gets stuck in the "aiming at a person" mode, i mess with these commands all the time after i beat the game, and i just simply reload my last location and it usually fixes it, sometimes i have to just save and quit hl2 and reload it completely, but its only happend to me when im using those commands, never when im not.

yeah cos of the complex scripting in hl2 the cheat codes tend to **** it up

Well there you have it. You have to reverse what you've done since HL2/Source doesn't just undo everything automagically after you've messed around with it.

I've reformatted and installed HL2 since then, also it was on my laptop when I used cheats. I haven't used cheats since. I fixed the problem though, I just started a new game in that chapter.

Try this

ent_fire npc_combinegunship setrelationship "player D_HT 99"

This command normally makes the gunship your enemy, but it can fix the rocket problem, dunno if it works.
