Catapults and cannons: How to?

I fews days ago after seeing this video( http://media.putfile.com/Hurting-Barney-2), i downloaded gmod 9. I tried to make a catapult, but my ragdoll only flew a few feet. And i tried to make a cannon out of a pipe, a dumpster lid, and an s-load of dynamite, but my ragdoll didnt fly out of the cannon. Am i doing something wrong here?

Try useing barrels and gas cans instead

Ragdolls aren't good prodjectilles, use barrels or lots of bricks.
