Do you think that Valve is making the graphics of HL2 better, like making better animations, textures ect?

Why would they be doing this? Quite frankly thier graphics were AMAZING....5 months ago...right now some games look like they could have better graphics then HL2 if they dont change it.

But hey, its not all about graphics, take HL for example. The graphics, no offecnce, SUCK (Compared to other current games) But the game is marvelous, better then some games with much better graphics.

..Lets hope they can blow us away at the release date.

:afro:

How can u possibly compare HL1's gfx with currents games??? I was relased 6 years ago, and the fact that your even comparing them speaks volumes about how good they were then. It also speaks volumes about something else....

Errr... it seems to me that CK was trying to compare HL's graphics with other contemporary games. Ie: games from the same "era".

im sure they're tweaking a few things
but this is obviously a graphically sound game.. no question about that
the only game that i can think of being a little more advanced is doom 3
but that's a completely different engine, in a completely different game
hl2 looks amazing... period.

Do you think that the hackor did so much damage that they have to work on the code for this long? Or maybe its just that they scrapped a few stages and made a few new ones? Or maybe thier just evil and not letting us play?!

I really believe and facts seem to gather up, that HL2 was never finished, and the hackers stole some really early stuff, maybe not even beta, god knows. We all seemed to of found a way of making ourselves believe that valve have finished the game. when it was quite clear that even in the E3 videos, there where some silly clipping errors. which is too daft for proffesional programers to make in a final revision,.. so concluded. it seems very much so that the game we saw really isnt perfected. and i dont think valve would have it any other way than perfect.

hearing about the visit to valve by another member of the .net community, makes it even more apparent that their not finished, when he said he saw them testing the helicopters AI. and possibly refineing it. testing still going on....? its definately going through some final stages. but all for the best. :)

I dunno if this is true, but I Think that I heard somewhere that Valve admitted that the hacker (stupid git) wasnt the cause of the delay.

let me ask u.. do u have and use Steam? if so.. have u been keeping up with how well its been working etc? because while Steam isn't the whole reason why HL2 was delayed, it definitely is one pretty important one as far as Valve is concerned..

another reason would be the one u stated.. maybe they had to change some/alot of the source code so its more secure.. and while im no expert programmer.. i would think that takes some time.. not something u can expect to be done overnite or over a couple of weeks..

whether there are other reasons.. we don't know.. only Valve can answer that.. but right now.. i don't feel that Steam is quite so ready for a HL2 release.. which may be the reason why we still don't have any confirmed dates yet.

I think what VALVe have up their sleeves with the MP will offset any possible slippage in comparible quality. I've not seen the haxored code but I think that HL2 will still knock our socks off when it EVENTUALLY gets released.
