Chapter Title Error

Ok whenever I am going to a new chapter, I don't get the chapter title across the screen, to let me know where I am in the game. (i.e Direct Intervention) The only way for me to actually know what chapter it is, is to hit escape and save it in an empty slot, and it will show it. This takes away from the game experience, because I have to look and see if I have made it to a new chapter. Is there a way for me to fix this, because having to actually exit to see this gets annoying. Does this happen to anyone else? Any way you can help me will be appreciated

Everyone had the same problem, and actually, I don't know a fix.

The only chapter title that doesn't appear is Exit 17. For me, at least.

I remember an update that came out a long time ago (shortly after the first 'Minerva' episode thing) that claimed to fix that bug. I myself had it, I fixed it by doing a complete re-install of Steam and HL2.

Yeah That's the one it does it for me too, Samson I went back to another level where I saved, before the end of it and the chapter title showed up. Except for Exit title. I guess I am fine now heh heh, thanks for your help guys, I appreciate it. enjoy the rest of your day, and happy gaming

yeah same, i just got the game on friday for my birthday and got the chapter title 3 times for the 1st three chapters, after that i didnt and presumed chapter 3 was just very long, but when i entered the 'new game' section in the menu i saw i was on the last chapter
