I play almost everyday and I haven't seen any cheaters in the game. I get accused of cheating almost everytime I play though. I'm good at bunnyhopping and using the boost together so I'm accused of speed hacking. I have good aim with the crossbow so I get accused of aim botting or having auto-aim.

I'm not saying there aren't any cheaters out there, but In my opinion most of the complaints about somebody cheating are invalid, and put in by inexperienced players who are quick to call somebody a hacker without even asking "how are you doing that?".

Extra health and armour hacks are impossible AFAIK, "auto aim" cheats exist in almost all FPS games, but there arent that many in HL2DM.

Stick to servers owned by large groups (like ISP's, IGN, XGES etc) because they tend to have active admins on the servers, or anti cheat software installed.

It's quite interesting you think you can bunnyhop... since it's not even in HL2DM :P

hahaha, yeah I was wondering about that. :P

btw, crossbow owns in narrow hallways :D

Not "old skool" bunnyhopping.. but there are still those people who hit the jump key when you're trying to kill them.. its really annoying in CSS actually.

That's not bunnyhopping. Bunnyhopping is near-continual acceleration :)

It's not in HL2DM :) not even possible with a script. bi0 came close, but you loose momentum after a few hops.

DAMN PHYSICS

a lot of games have it where if you keep tapping jump when you're going up a hill, then you go really fast.

but not hl2dm :)

Still not bunnyhopping :P

And yes, I know you hate me bliink :E

SOmetimes it seems that the moves are impossible i have seen people blink in and out. Maybe it's just me. but thanks for the input!

I got accused of cheating for the first time tonight. In a strange type of way I take it as a compliment.
I don't cheat as I simply don't know how to and I wouldn't know how to spot a cheat if I saw one.
I have played lockdown and overwatch until I now know every square inch of the maps and am just on my way back to one of them.
If people wish to cheat then so be it because at the end of the day they are only cheating themselves. When I play I play to better myself and improve my scores. I really don't feel the need to cheat.

my first week of playing i saw one guy using a speedhack. He was running around lockdown at sustained faster than sprint speeds. Then other people started doing that too.

And earlier today some player by the name of Megaman X in a TDM game kept accusing me and anyone who killed him of cheating. I did not help the situation when i nailed him to the wall with a crossbow after sprint dodging a double blasted shotgun spray. He kept shouting "BS!" or "F**KING CHEATING BS!" all round. things got worse when i said he was acting like a 12 year old.

I get accused of cheating all the time, then I turn my cheats off.

* slaps Pressure with a trout *

Yes, some people use cheats. And, as I said before, I kept nailing this one speedhacker often enough that he started accusing me of cheating. As if hacks somehow make you invincible to the dreaded Combine Energy Ball o'Doom.

i don't need to be moving at 60 mph to avoid a combine energy ball.

the only times those babies get me now is when i get stuck in a hallway. but if i here one charging up, Dodge, dip, duck, dive, and dodge. primarily over railings and sprinting away like a man on fire

man i want some trout, yeah speed hackers are easy to kill cause they usually run at you in a straight line so you just mow their ass down

Noone can avoide the combine energy ball!!!!

Got accused of cheating with extra health or something in CS:S the other day - guy had a sniper rifle (scout) but kept missing me, he unleashed about 4 shots - i had the Krieg and nailed him (it was in office from one window to one of those little bunker kinda things).

When i died then all i could see in the chat was, "i shot him about 4 times"
Ah, funny times...But yeah, cheating sucks.

I was just playing TDM on Watercove. I had the worst score I have had in a while when this kid starts screaming hacker. Appearently he dosen't understand a point blank shot to the head with a double barrel-shotgun is supposed to kill him.

luckily I've only met one dodgy person playing HL2DM... acouple more playing CS:S but it's nowhere nearly as bad as in 1.6...

But if you were, then you'd have a tough time dodging it. Funny thing about speedhacking--it's hard to react really quickly to things when everything is rushing past you at the length of a football stadium per second.

I generally just tend to avoid the sound of the impulse rifle's primary fire. Odds are that the secondary fire is there waiting to be released. Either staying away or lying in wait with a shotgun/crossbow near the secondary ammo spawn seems to work well.

Is there a crouching bug in HLDM? I was positive I hit this guy who was 5 feet infront of me at least 5 times with the crossbow, but he didn't die. It was like it went straight through him, and it wasn't bad aim or lag.

Maybe he was just used hax.

Here's a tip, aim at the lower part of the neck or upper chest instead

Yeah, the hitboxes are a bit f*ked when crouching, aim for the torso as anything around should-height or higher just doesn't register. Hope Valve fixes this soon, it pissed me off until I figured it out.

It may not be called bunnyhopping, but there are a lot of tricks you can use to make yourself run a lot faster than somebody just using boost.
