Chirldren in City 17...???

People, we are way out of subject, we were talking about kids in HL2 and now we find ourselves talking about child rape, illegal sex and parenting.

For the main question: They will not put kids in games because is wrong to kill children if something ever happened in real life to a kid ,no offence out there, but Americans do not see the difference between a game and real life, most of "stupid killings" like Columbine and teen-agers shooting with AK 47s in the street occur in America, in fact I'm pretty sure they all occur in the US, apart from the one that happened in Germany and the 11 Japanese girl who cuted her friends head in Japan not long ago, if something happened like that and they found out the nerd played HL2 they could blame Valve, just like they keep doing with Rock*.
It's wrong, period.

To the other guy, the only place I know were you can have sex with a minor is in France, It of course depends on your age.

Though I'm not going to argue that strange things happen in the US, it's been a rumor 3 times in a row and disproven 3 times in a row that they did it because of games. Basically the only people who have trouble distinguishing the two are the censor boards. And besides, HL2 is rated M anyway. I hate kiddy games. I've hated them since I was 12. Heck I've hated em since I could tell they were nutured so they would not hurt my fragile little mind. Which was a good amount of time before turning 12. About 8 or so.

I highly doubt Half-Life2 will have children that you can kill. The only games that I can think that had children were Deus Ex, Fallout2 and Black and White... not sure if black and white counts. (Im not including games like The Sims ect)

hey mr mirage we DID discuss the possibility of children being in HL2. It's always remained on topic in some way. don't remember why it started containing the occasional talk of paedophilic activity though. But for all we know the combine could be doing stuff to the children in HL2, and that kind of makes it on topic.

I agree that the whole "test lab children" thing is clichéd but I only take that from what I saw in the E3 videos. When the G-Man is talking (not sure which part), behind him you can see some sort of production line with pods that are the right size to hold children. Obviously, its a slim chance that they do contain City 17's children but its possible. They could be related to the combine or some alien force.

On a seperate note, I think they should make it illegal for any of George Bush's family to have children. That gene pool's barrel has been scraped enough!!

Though this thread is somewhat weird in aprts, it raises a valid topic. Is realism (In this case, the ability to harm children) permissible in everything? Or can it go too far? Will VALVe has children in the game, or remove them? Or will removal of children characters be a localised thing?

Perhaps there was a plague of rats in City 17 at some stage, and Dr. Breen came along and said he'd get rid of them for a price. However, once his combine troops killed all the rats using the manhacks the city council wouldn't pay him!!1 So Dr. Breen's troops kidnapped all the children and put them in pods, then took over the city, while the administrator sat happily playing his pan pipes.
