Co-op mod (single player story)

Hi,

Does anyone know if there is a mod out which will allow me to play Half Life 2, or Half Life 2 Episode One story-mode with someone else online. As I have completed these games already, however me and my mate want to complete some of the Half Life games together as it will be more fun. I have already tryed http://www.hl2cp.com/ and http://www.planetdawson.com/synergy/ however these mods only allow me to play a co-op half life game whith custom made maps. I want a co-op game where I can play all of the missions with the actual objectives and work my way through the levels.
So does anyone know where I can find a mod like this?

Synergy allows you to play the usual storyline in co-op.

I just tryed it with my mate and all I got was a selection of maps which are cutom made?

By storyline will is still have all of the talking and half life style cut scenes in it?

Why wouldn't it? Try "quick start game" on the Synergy main screen. It'll allow you to start in the train station.

MMM, I dont get a quick start game just:

Find Server
Create Server
Freinds
Mp3 Player
Select Character
Options
Quit

And this is Synergy Beta 2 I am using...the latest eddition I think.

Any help?

AAH, I had the wrong vertion of Synergy, I am now beta 2.4 which is the latest update. I have tryed to create a server and that quickplay button, however my freind cannot join. I gave him the ip he couldnt connect. It came up as a LAN and I dont want that, anyone know how me and my mate using Synergy can play together withought having a LAN?

To prevent that, type "sv_lan 0" in the console.

Ok, I just tryed that now, and my mate still cant join or see me on his favs? I remade svr and stf, still nothing is working? HELP?

Are you using the same Synergy version? Are you using different Steam accounts?

Yeah, were both 2.4 and both on diff steam accs

I've had hosted servers not show up lots of times, give him the IP address.

Thats what I have been doing, on like cs and stf when you click create a server its only a lan. I keep trying Create A Server and the quick start game. None of them work? Wont I need to host a dedicated which takes like ages to set up and its realllly har?

Does anyone have any links giving me instructions to set up a dedicated server for the game?

You can't join your own dedicated server.

Lets you set up as a private LAN. Also gets round port forwarding issues.

So it would appear that www.hamachi.com doesn't support syreny

It would appear that hamchi.com dosen't even exist.

Try the link I gave you. It dosen't need to "support" a program, if it works via normal TCP/IP or UDP/IP and supports network play, then it will work over hamachi. This includes all steam based games.
