I did these a few days ago and have been meaning to post them ever since but anyway here goes:

1. Remember in BME where you go into the scrapyard and get the Gravity Gun. Well when you pulled the barrels down, I went up to the barrells and found a supply crate with 2 boxes of .357 rounds and the face of an old HEV charger from Black Mesa. When the Combine attack started I figured, "Well, it survived one Black Mesa, it should survive the other." So you know what I did then? I carried it all the way through Ravenholm, nearly losing it on some occasions. I managed to carry it all the way to the rebel base outside of Ravenholm.

2. I killed a Myrmidont with the crowbar in Nova Prospekt!!!

If you don't believe me, (which you most likely won't) I'll try and send in a video of it, I only have the Xbox version because I suck =(

Some people carry Dog's ball. You carry an entirely useless item?

Yeah, you can kill the Guard with anything. Usually, I just use the gravity gun and pelt it with anything I can find.

I remember taking it out with a crowbar..was mad fun. Then I killed it with just a little rock. Boy that was hard. :(

Dog's ball, why didn't I think of that........I'm gonna try that now =D I found a few more trigger speeches in BME. I'm sure somone's already found them befoe me but anyway. When you are in Eli's lab, have you noticed that strange green thing in a tube? When you go up to it Eli will say, "We still don't know what that is. Alyx brings home the strangest things." Also if you go up to the teleporter he will say, "We've almost got that portal working again, but I wouldn't blame you if you didn't volunteer for the next trial run." I also found this out through Wikipedia, if you look at Eli's clipboard it will have a few newspaper clippings from The Times, which is strangely enough a British newspaper, unless they do it over in America or Bulgaria or whatever. These are reporting the surrender of Earth by Dr. Breen. If you have the PC version you can see them a lot better. Anyway, Eli will say, "Dr. Breen. He's the administrator of this whole vile business now. He ended the Seven hours War by managing Earth's surrender." Also if you go into the room where Judith went she'll sound rather surprised and quickly tell you to go see Eli and she'll catch up. Eli will also say, "Fine scientist Judith. She was up for your job at Black Mesa, but you edged her out with your Innsbruck experience."

Dog's ball was the first gameplay exploit found in HL2. Take it to Ravenholm and you'll see why. (btw the second gameplay exploit was physobject jumping)

That thing in the lab is Cremator's head. Cremator is not in game, it was supposed to be but got cut away. It supposedly does what the name implies.

Other than that, all those things you mentioned are sooo very old. Cool, but old :)

Yeah I know that about Judith. I found it a while ago because I thought maybe she was contacting Dr. Breen that I had arrived, seeing that the complex gets invaded shortly after my arrival. Thought maybe I could catch the b*tch in the act. ;)

Dog's ball, because its technically a rollermine, enemies attack it instead of you, so it's useful to fight through with, although it blows up in water, so you can only take is so far. The rest of the stuff we've seen/heard 100 times before, funnily enough being a fansite hosted by valve and all!

I thought Valve just helped you guys get in contact with Limewire to get hosting :) Or has that changed in some point?

Has anyone tried to complete the game......walking backwards!!!!

Doable but stupid.

Too bad HL2 can't be backtraced like you could do with HL1* (get to the very end, then walk back to the starting point).

*: No, I never count Xen as part of HL1. It sucked too bad.

You sure you can do that? Even if the blast doors are closed, and some sections crumble?

Well the trick is to speedrun the game so that those triggers never execute...very gimmicky way to play but still doable.

Hah... I remember the HL2DoneQuick team managed to trigger the "Dog tears up citadel side bit" immediantly after reaching that bit. Like, straight off.

I love flying on palettes/gravgun jumping.. to skip puzzles when I feel like it :D

Is there a video of that somewhere?

One of the most simple-yet-satisfying things to do in HL2 is to sneak up the ladder of the crane on Highway 17, get behind the combine guy, and whack him with the crowbar, then watch his five second fall to oblivion. I probably did that a hundred times or so.

You know those troop pods the dropships carry? And that they can be destroyed? It's fun in sandtraps, when you have to find a battery for the car door to open, to blow up the incoming dropship's troop pod before the soldiers are through:
1) You kill about 5 soldiers at once.
2) The dropship AI loses it and starts circling the skies as if it was high on something.

I only had enough ammo to do this right there, in other places the dropships are also more in the open ( with those evil cannons )

It's actually very useful for distracting zombies.

You can actually take all the way to Nova Prospekt without cheating. But there's an invisible barrier you can't get it passed.
